Re: Why So Serious? [Caspian] « Result #9 on Nov 21, 2009, 8:04pm »
"It's what I did prior before coming to St. Louis, Annaliese," She looks at him with curiosity clear in her eyes. She always loved good stories but she's a little more than positive that he won't share too much in such a short meeting time. There are other days for that of course. That's as if she could break down that fortrice Caspian has so clearly set up around him. It's respectable. Some things need to stay hidden and left unspoken.
"I'd love to hear about your life previous of St. Louis when the time is better," She says shifting slightly in her seat.
"I really didn't have enough freedom to venture out and find myself a hobby. I was kept practically on my toes all the time." Annaliese would love to see what kept the Jaguar on alert, on his toes and claws. What ruffles that jet black fur on his back to a standstill. Oh the possibilities to find out. Apparently woman dancing doesn't do it.
"Well now is the best time than ever, dear Caspian, I'll tell you that," She says with a nod and a sip of her drink.
Those gray eyes are casted over to the other Hyenas in the building. The ones in the expensive suits done up to her liking. They look nice, as if they've stepped out of an Armani store. It's all about appearances. All about looking as if they are innocent, nice, less than dangerous. But that's the one thing about the Hyenas that most do not give them credit for. Her kind is every kind of dangerous. Their ability to seduce another, to trick, to frighten to the bone. If a person were to go missing and it was at the hands of a Hyena the body will never be found. Never. Sure, the Lion King gave them a less than respectable reputation but there is no cartoon characters in these parts.
"I spent the last few years getting to know the area. Not enough jaguars have entered. The two that did left without a word. If a jaguar does not accept my protection and invitation to join my Tribe, then they are not responsibility. Wherever they are now, I cannot reach them, and as terrible as it may sound, I won't."
"Oh no," She says swallowing more of her new drink, shaking her head and waving her hand. "If anything I know what you say of no entering. There are various Hyenas here most I'm using as uh, 'bouncers' for the club but nothing much else. And like you, if there is a refusal of any form I do not waste my time in changing their mind otherwise."
There are differences in their ways of doing things, the Hyenas and Jaguars. She is the Konigin of her Cackle as it is what is seen typically. The females being the head of the race. The Jaguars, though she isn't certain, seems to show that a King is held in place as the leader. It's respectable but Annaliese wouldn't take that laying down if she were a Jaguar, God forbid.
"Annaliese, I would accept your alliance," She smiles brightly, showing she's more than pleased. A few small happy claps as she raises her glass along with his in cheers and takes a good swig of the whiskey without cringing. "I'll make it a toast," he grinned cheerfully, "To us and the joining of the Tribe and the Cackle, uniting together."
"This is just marvelous!" She exclaims, practically bouncing in her seat.
"I will stand by your Cackle, Annaliese. I offer protection to your hyenas if the situation ever arises, if the same respect shall be offered to my jaguars." He says as if to confirm what she already agrees upon.
"Oh but of course! If I see one of your kittens are in danger," She smiles that sly smile, "I'll to it that it the attacker won't be able to place one of yours in danger again." Does she mean death? Not at the moment. There are other ways in which Annaliese has to make someone terrified enough to turn to stone.
"You have nothing to worry about on my side, Pussycat," She says while downing her whiskey in a heartbeat and setting it on the glass with a small clink.
"Now that we've business out of the way. Could there be anything else I could offer you?" She isn't exactly hitting on him as there are other things to do but she does keep a few things in mind.
Immortals have wandered the earth for hundreds of years on one continuous life cycle, staying alive as they watch their soul mates die and reincarnate over and over again. The Humans take a trip down the River of Forgetfulness and emerge a totally new person, who their Immortal soul mates have to seek out and befriend - knowing deep down that they are the person they are meant to be with.
Ever Bloom emerged from a car crash that took her parents lives a different person to who she once was. She is now able to read minds and determine peoples' moods by the colour of their aura. Then, Damen moves to Bay View and changes her life for good. Damen saved Evers' life the day of the car crash, unable to watch her die again and now has to make Ever believe that they are soul mates, who have shared many lifetimes together - each ending with Ever dying in "accidents."
Fate will play a big part in everyones lives as Immortals and Humans come together, to determine whether forever, is worth it.
